Welcome to the Borders Bike Kit

In a bid to attract more cyclists to visit the region a free resource has been produced to help Borders tourism businesses.  The Borders Bike Kit has been developed by the Scottish Borders Recreational Cycling Group as part of a £275,000 programme over 4 years to promote the region’s leisure cycling offer.  The Recreational Cycling Group’s remit is to co-ordinate the development and promotion of cycling in the Scottish Borders.  Membership of the Group comprises Scottish Enterprise, VisitScotland, Scottish Borders Council, Sustrans, Borders Sport and Leisure Trust and business representatives from the tourism sector.

The new online Bike Kit provides marketing advice, links to information on the region’s cycle routes, free imagery, web banners, top tips and suggestions for joint working to enable accommodation providers, bike hire shops, cafes, restaurants and attractions throughout the Borders to showcase the region’s potential as a cycling destination to prospective visitors.

The Scottish Borders has some wonderful road cycling to offer both those who want a cycling day trip and also those who are more experienced and want the challenge of a long distance route.  The Borders bike kit contains useful information on what cyclists need before and during their stay and there are also top tips to make visitors feel welcome and fully enjoy their visit.  Cycle Scottish Borders  is a new cycling website which businesses can link to.

The Borders Bike Kit will be updated on an ongoing basis and your feedback on how useful you have found it would be helpful. Please note that the content is for illustrative purposes only and is not a definitive guide to all businesses.
